Thank You To City of Los Angeles For Today's "Zuma Dogg Appreciation Festival" (Aka: Mayor Villaraiogsa & City Hall Inaugural Ceremony)

Thank you to the City of Los Angeles for spending how ever much they spent today (BIG $$$) for today's "Zuma Dogg Appreciation Day Festival" at 200 Spring Street today. It was happening all throughout the City of Los Angeles Inaugurral Ceremony outside City Hall today where Mayor Antonio Villaraiogsa was sworn in by his cousin Mary Lou Villar (the Superior Court Judge appointed by Gov Arnold Scwarzenegger) along with the new City Attorney, City Controller and a bunch of the same old councilosers and one new one.

Yes, from the time ZD arrived very early, around 9:00am, to try and get a good seat for the HUGE outdoor ceremony; turns out there was no time or good reason for Zuma Dogg to sit in his seat when there were so many masses of people around the outside permiter strolling in who were coming up to Zuma Dogg to say hello, and let me tell you folks...YOU ARE IN BIG TROUBLE NOW...cause it's been a while since ZD has been to a big gathering like that, after a long, long round of day-to-day grinding of an activist who is buring up energy trying to get my uncalled public comments called from San Pedro or Van Nuys remote locations (or in downtown chambers ever); all the research, talking on the phone and most miserably, being stuck blogging it in some small coffee shop with people all over, and blenders grinding and orders being shouted out...THEN, having to find a safe. out of the way spot to sleep outside after the rest of the city settles down, and I never have enough to eat, all the physical pings/pangs and pains that go along with all of this...SO I HAVEN'T BEEN FOCUSING ON THE PUBLIC RESULTS.

But after today, I see it is like seeds that I have been planting for the past nine years on public access; past three years on TV 35 from the Council meetings; and especially past year and three months of the most intesnse routine (including attending over a year's worth of meetings without missing ONE and running for mayor and then STILL not missing any meetings and the blogging has never been hotter (more seen).

So today, even though I was so sleep deprived and could barely move from overall stiffness and pings and pangs...after my ride was late and I had to take a much more undesireable "Plan B" mode of transportaion and I absolutely almost DID pass out from all the running around back and forth and into chambers and back out in the hot sun with my ski cap...

I WAS REMINDED HOW MUCH THE EFFORTS OF "ZUMA DOGG" MEAN TO SO MANY PEOPLE FOR WHAT THEY TELL ME IS SO IMPORTANT. (Cause people may recognize a news anchor or TV personality, but people who meet ZD are VERY PASSIONATE about the encounter.

I LOVE RANDOM MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC, and I only have ONE relationship in this city...WITH THE RANDOM MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC. The only relationship that I feel comfortable with are the random masses of individuals who greet me with warm smiles and tell me all the reasons why they like ZD.

AND TODAY WAS A VERY SURREAL EXPERIENCE FOR ME, AS SO MANY PEOPLE WERE EXCITED TO SEE THE REAL ZD, IN PERSON TODAY. I COULDN'T EVEN FINISH WITH ONE PERSON BEFORE THE NEXT PERSON WAS APPROACHING AND JUMPING IN. (I couldn't believe the people I had to run back and apologize to for turning attention away, but they always understand...THE PEOPLE COME FIRST, EACH AND EVERY TIME. I will walk away from the TOP officials in the state if someone is waiting to say, "Hello" to ZD...and it is F-ING HILARIOUS when some of these most power elected officials have to sit and watch as some random member of the public is POURING IT ON HARD, as they go un-noticed. (So thank you to those electeds who understand and don't mind "standing by." And to express my gratutude, I will usually introduce the voter to the elected and put in a quick good word for the official to let the public person know this important mover and shaker, that you are now HORRIFIED THAT YOU JUST INTERUPPTED will take a moment to "catch up" with ZD. (And hopefully tell him something they shouldn't, just to be nice.)

I MAY BE SO FUCKING SLEEP DEPRIVED RIGHT NOW THAT I AM IN TEARS AND IN PAIN, even though I just looked fine when you saw me, but let me tell you people...I WAS STUNNED BY THE DEPTH AND INTENSITY OF RECOGNITION TODAY WHILE DOWNTOWN FOR THE INAUGURAL.

I guess I just have to realize, when I walk down the street, or into an elevator...people are aware "The Great Zuma Dogg" has just entered. PEOPLE FUCKING LOVE ME! AND I AM SO FUCKING BITTER RIGHT NOW, I WANT TO RUB IT IN ALL THE PEOPLE'S FACE WHO CAN'T STAND IT WHEN I SAY THAT.

Everyone from suit and tie big shots from inside City Hall (who tell me they voted for me even though "they would be fired for saying it") to the random skid row nut-ball who called me "Scooby" instead of "Zuma"....I'M THE PEOPLE'S PEOPLE! And you couldn't achieve what I have in this city for all the money in the world, NO MATTER WHO THE FUCK YOU ARE READING THIS.

I EARNED EVERY SMILE AND ACCOLADE AND RESPECTFUL COMMENT FROM "HERO" TO ""GENIUS" THE HARD WAY...AND YOU COULD NOT CREATE THE MIRACLE OF A MAGIC TRICK THAT I JUST DID OVER THESE YEARS.

Yes, I call it a magic trick or miracle when I am able to walk outside into the public and walk down the street and have scores of people from vagrants to police smile and tell you how they love you so much.

SO DON'T TAKE ME FOR GRANTED PEOPLE...AND YOU BETTER TAKE THE SHIT OUT OF YOUR MOUTH WHEN YOU TALK TO ME...

NOTE: Pictures and videos coming soon. I need a USB cord and those cost about .99 cents at the .99 cent store, and ZD ain't made of money y'all.
